That make me think of my late FIL, that man at 80 years old could screw up a computer in ways I didn't know possible just triing to play Freecell LOL. RIP Ed, you're badly missed.
If any of the connectors you used and taped up are visible, it would be pretty easy to seal them with liquid electrical tape when you get a chance but you should be fine in GA for many years.
The rare day of snow in the Dirty South is a good excuse for a few days off.
No need for salt down here, it'll just melt in a couple days if it even lasts that long.
