I tried to paint my front Z4M bumper.
Bought the rattle can paint custom mixed from NAPA.
It arrived as a water based paint which I had no experience with.
I did the spray in the garage and within minutes the air was very foggy.
I assumed this had something to do with water based spray paint.
I wasn't happy and ended up taking it to the body shop, where the tech used a colour analyzer to match the stock paint colour.
If memory serves - I recall the stock paint was closest to a Mazda White ! (?)
The cost of the custom mixed paint was about $200 (including clear) which I considered the cost of a Life Lesson.
You should be very proud of your results.
PS - I had previously painted replacement rockers on my Chev Van. It was a metallic grey that I got from Canadian Tire. The reults with that paint were perfect. So I guess you just never know until you give it a squirt !
