May not apply to the OP, but I've been happy with my v12's. Had a set of Dunlop Star Specs before that gave good grip, but tramlined almost as bad as the original RFTs. I ran all 4 down almost to cord in 20K miles. The v12's might have been a bit less grippy, but seemed to work well wet and dry over 40K miles of daily driving - and almost completely eliminated the tramlining. Maybe this is a result of the soft sidewall others have complained about, but I liked the Hankooks enough that I just ordered a 2nd set.
