It was also clear to me that the housing has some breathing system inside of it that forbids fuel starvation.
The area where the fuel pump draws the fuel is a small confined space as if it represents a fuel surge tank.

When you installed your pump george, does the white casing in my previous image gets mounted horizontally or vertically?
And what does the couple of white tubes plug into? inside the tank? they could be used as a pickup from another "small" fuel pump as well that is not fuel pressure regulated.

I'm not sure if my english is correct in that last sentence but it's 12:00 over here.
well.... the dude off the internet that told you the stock pump was walbro may have been right......
