Yea, the guides themselves are dirt cheap.
It's the labor that's nuts. Just the top one requires pulling the Vanos and exhaust hub.
Doing the others requires removing the timing cover.
Not sure how to do that, but I wouldn't be surprised if it involves first taking off the bumper cover and then keep taking things off until you hit block.
