I guess i was concerned about the cross-threading issue since I imagine that the clutch stop would have a metric thread (i saw a post indicating it was M10? I'll check on realoem) vs. the 3/18-16 thread on the elevator bolt.

Thanks Hawkeye -- knowing the height difference between the OE and DIY clutch stop would actually be very helpful.

Based on the reports of not being able to get the clutch in far enough to start the car in hot weather, I'm considering just making a *slightly* shorter clutch stop that will eliminate most of the travel, but will still go in far enough consistently to start reliably every time.
