Interesting. This is the first I've heard of a problem from 3-->2 under load. My local road course is extremely tight and very technical (i.e. fairly slow) and I've never needed to touch 2nd gear (and I was always one of the faster on the track). Maybe you should drive faster so you don't need to downshift into 2nd...
