I had an issue with airbag light which was caused by increased resistance in a connection causing decreased voltage tripping a "error" code. The BMW tech isolated and cleaned the connector which cleared the fault. The connector was the one in the battery compartment (single connector) to the left of the battery looking forward. Clean with electrical cleaner/blow dry and clear your codes and see what happens. I'd also clean the connectors under your seat as well if that doesn't work. I would also check the wiring you did and ensure that its wired correctly and is doing what it's supposed to do. You could be introducing an error condition as a result.
