I think the only reason 10-60 is recommended is if the engine is going to be raced, since the 60 weight will help with higher temps.
5-30 is thinner and will get upto temp faster and be less suited to constant high temp situations and u will have to change the oil more often.
It wont break ur engine, but depending on how u drive it may be less ideal for you.
