My own dad was my inspiration, as well. Similar stories, except his love in automobiles were Ramblers. His only new vehicle was a '62 Custom Cross Country wagon where he piled in the whole brood and took us to places like the Jersey Shore for vacations.
Amazing how the cars, people and (yes, unfortunately now the places) vanish over time but the memories remain.
