Saw this and thought I'd share. The N52 motor for those of us that have it (2006+ 3.0i and 3.0si) is a very technologically advanced and lightweight motor. The motor in a BMW is its heart and soul. Enjoy it.

I didn't realize the water pump can continue to operate after the engine is shut off to cool it. And that the block is both aluminum and magnesium.
