OK to make this better.

Start with some sort of RFid activated relay.

Remove the key switch from the steering column and hide it somewhere with key in ignition 2, with a normally open relay cutting the ignition 2 signal. your RFID signals the relay to close when you're close and allows the ignition 2 signal to be completed. Button now works without any work from you.

I know they make RFid switches so it's actually doable.


Problem I see is car will be in ignition 2 as you approach, and stay that way until you are away from it. IE you would be getting in and out with the cars radio on and stuff.

to solve that, use a two position switch, when pressed without a input it only starts/stops ignition 2 (RFID must be close as well) and when getting a voltage input (from clutch position sensor or brake sensor) it starts the car (again RFID must be close)
