Adjusting hood
After reading a previous thread about the buffer stops and some saying it tightened up their rattling hoods, I installed two new ones (mine were broken anyway) but found they did not really tighten up the hood. Then I looked at the U (or O if you will) shaped "hooks" on the underside of the hood that catch onto the two latches in the engine compartment to hold the hood down.
I removed the plastic screws holding down the black plastic cover over these "hooks" and found that the hooks could be screwed in or out. I screwed them in a full turn then replaced the black covers and tried the hood again. Voila! Tight hood.
Many may already know this trick but thought I would share for those that don't. You can experiment by half turns to get the perfect height for the hood when closed to match the bumper. You still may need to screw the buffer stops in or out slightly to adjust the tension on the hood upwards to make it all tight when closed.
