By design, once a fault is detected in the SRS system, the fault will not clear by itself. It must be
manually cleared.
Are you sure the issue is not something with the instrument cluster?
Since you have already replaced the control module and reflashed software, and the problem is still there and it is intermittent, this tells me that it is not error in the SRS system and it might just be an indication issue.
