Everybody knows that in balls to the wall, bigger motor in same car is going to be faster. But the question here was in every day, day to day driving. Not that much different. In an all out drag race, or on a race track, sure the Si will be faster than the S and the M faster than all of them. BUT a trained SCCA SI driver on the track will beat a newbee in an M. Can't beat the training. In a drag race 1/4 mile or stop light, let the person with the bigger engine fall asleep, delay a hair at the light, and between these cars, they have lost. Most of the Z crowd doesn't have the guts to drop the clutch on a Z at 4 to 5,000 rpm very often in the first place. Magazine testers are trying to get the very best out of the run and it's not their car. BMW or some tv shows will get what they can without destroying the car. If you want to win, you have to be willing to break it!
