A few months ago I posted that I would be testing other oils against Castrol Edge/TWS in an effort to find one that reduces lead in UOA on a consistent basis. I will post details later but, at this point I only have data on Redline 10W-60 which suggests that it should not be used. Long story short lead went up quite a bit while using it. For this oil change I am testing Penrite 5W-60 which on paper looks promising. It's thinner than Edge 10W-60 cold and thicker when hot while offering a very solid anti-wear additive pack.

I am not going to debate the use of any oil here only share data, discuss away.
