At 50k miles it's probably a good idea to replace dampers.
Changing springs will only exacerbate their demise.

That said, a set of H&R coilovers will be in about the same price range and will have better matching dampers.
The H&R use Bilstein dampers and are a great solution for what you describe.
The ride is also very OE like but with better control
