Exactly when can I expect this to occur? I'm 62 and don't see any signs of this happening yet. I've only owned one car with an automatic, but I was 18 and needed transportation. The last two cars I've bought weren't even offered with an automatic.
Another way to look at it is the older you get, the closer you get to retirement, and then you don't have to drive in rush hour traffic.
