Something I never thought of before, but really does make a difference is what is in your trunk. A friend and I drove to an autox about 1 hr, with a cooler in back, I just sat it on the floor. It's like the thing actually amplified the sound - the drone was the loudest I've ever heard it. For the ride back, I laid a jacket across the floor and set the cooler on that, and it was much better
