The length (height) of both are the same. The 34N* is the more "powerful" of the two if you want more "pop", due to the stiffer spring rate used. Note that the 34N* may be more prone to breakage due to the stiffer spring rate. If it breaks, the end cap and spring may end up rattling inside your trunk's sheet metal...one of the reason I decided not to do this mod after seeing how my front ejector failed (an engineer's pessimist point of view
