^glad u were able to work the diy installation without too much trouble. there really wasn't a need to remove the aircon vents to access the radio head unit itself, i simply removed the plastic panel right under the hvac controls and used my fingers to route the connector cable to the rear of the head unit itself. the aux connector is literally plug and play, so u just have to 'click' it into place. $68 is for an oem part and, of course, bmw would NEVER be expecting their customers to install accessories themselves....
