Cost effective....not so sure....well, if you're going to pull the struts out, why not do the brake rotors and pads, fluid, change to stainless steel brake lines, etc.....see what I mean? I think your front struts will last you quite a bit longer, so I wouldn't worry about it. Get the strut mounts and be done with it.
