East Tennessee E86

Hi all. James in Powell. First year as a BMW owner. Started with a 8000 mile 2000 Z3 Roady. back in March. Awesome car with stupidly low miles. Get her for a steal. Just never could get comfortable in a vert as a super pale white dude and a history of sun burns.

I had known about the Z4 Coupes for a couple of years and always thought they looked freaking insane. Exactly what a sports car should look like. Finally found a somewhat neglected one in Atlanta back in July. Drove down, beat the seller up over the price, and drove back home with it. It's been a little bit of a project to get it OEM. Super SUPER nice car to ride in once the RFTs came off. Car was bought with 49,000 miles, now has 61,000 since July. No garage queen.

So far done to the car:

Tons of cleaning

Replaced Windshield (ate the hell up)

Powder coated the OEM wheels

New front and rear brakes

New Mechatronics sleeve (600 bucks for a 30 dollar part) Could not DIY due to ground clearance issues.

3 DIY oil changes, new spark plugs

Some other odds and ends and all documented.

Up next: Water pump before it happens. Maybe new window tint. Gotta do something about the wood grain. What is this, a Buick??

Really enjoying the car thus far, especially in East Tennessee where there is no such thing as a straight road. Dragon is less than an hour from here. Another area called "Devils Triangle" 30 minute drive as well.
