I think you've covered it somewhere, but once the paint cures, you're going with some kind of protection for the bumper, lights, and hood, correct? (I'll be doing that too after an eventual respray, wasn't worth it when I bought the car given the less than perfect front end.)
Take it that even with these changes you'll be renting a car for any future trips back to stone/pumice/sandblasting land!

Yes, I think I'll be getting a clear-bra for most of the front end.
And hopefully I never have to go back through the Rockies during the late fall/winter months, but if I do, a rental is probably going to be in the cards, haha. Funny thing is I actually had the choice of attending the course I had to travel for in either Utah or Pennsylvania; I chose Utah.
