At the core of the original post are the concepts of practicality and financial return. Neither of these things really apply with a sports car. It's about emotion, joy, feel, enjoyment.

IMO, there's nothing more souless and joyless than a Camry. Going from the Z to that is going to be painful. The Prius is a good performer in its niche, plus you can put a huge amount of stuff in the hatch, which is great for utility and for trips, and sounds like a perfect fit for the other needs you have. Buying a Camry to keep miles off a Prius seems like a bad idea to me. Drive the heck out of the Prius and use the Z4 for some fun, joy, and excitement. If you really enjoy the quality time with the Z4, and have fun with it, you'd really miss it when it's gone! Z4 + Prius and you have the best of both worlds.

Just my 2 cents.

Emotion, joy and enjoyment cover how I feel driving my Z. My first car was a 1967 Mustang with 98,000 miles on it, when I started the car smoke came out the tail pipe.Cars that had 100,000 miles were ready for the scrap yard and I can't seem to get over the 100,000 mile mark. Thanks for the reply.
