Babe, you haven't forgotten you're in California, have you? The state's hardly a magnet for normalcy.
And speaking as someone considered quite normal by darn near everyone, normal isn't what I've observed most women looking for. The sane ones seem to crave the drama of bad boys, losers, whiners, cheaters, jerks, etc. Normalcy is boring, dull, until you're serious about building a life - at which point, normal is usally taken.
