OK, thanks for teaching me something. It never occurred to me that BMW would put more aggressive (lower aspect ratio) tires on the non-M, but I guess that's what they do. I guess this compensates somewhat for the higher rear end gearing of the M (3.62 vs. 3.46-3.23 for the non-M).
PS. Given that I wouldn't think the OP would have any trouble fitting the slightly wider tires he's considering.
