This.

The engine code in the 3.0si is known as an "N52". The 2006 N52 has a magnesium valve cover and a plastic silver engine cover. The 2007 - 2008 Z4 3.0si and beyond (in other BMWs) N52's have a plastic valve cover and black plastic engine cover. The covers are not interchangeable.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
