Did you try the lat/long settings? That will nail it down. Google can provide coordinated.
It is general if zip only is used and picks out a less than desirable location using zip alone in some cases. If you don't want to use home address, I suggest picking a local business or something else with a full street address close to home. I got my pin to be close without using my actual address that way. This works well with no lat/long.
Let us know if that doesn't help.
