I've had two sets now on my non-M coupe. The first were on 18's in the standard staggered 255/35, 225/40 configuration and I was very happy with them. Great grip on the road and decent longevity. My second set was on my older 17" rims running 235/45, 225/45 and, while OK, I like them noticeably less than the 18's. The small difference in sidewall height seems to make a significant difference in "squishiness" when cornering. Again, they're not awful, but they're really missing the crispness I found with the 18's.

It's not bad enough to make me pull them off the car (which I'm mainly using for commuting these days anyway), but it certainly is enough that I wouldn't buy them again in the 45 aspect ratio nor recommend them to performance oriented drivers.
