I have been talking with my SA about my "sticky" steering problem and he indicated that BMW was "assisting" repairs for some Z4s which are out of warranty but still have relatively low miles. I have 40K miles. I took it in last week. BMW agreed to go 50/50 and will replace the entire steering assembly including the electric motor. Cost to me $1200.
