I used a angled Craftsman 3/8 ratchet to get to the top mount bolts. No exhaust removal, just took down part of the heatshield. 45 minutes including jacking car.

You need to remove the tranny crossmember first then loosen the top mount bolts.
Good to hear my upgraded mounts idea quite possibly solved the problem as it did in my old car.
