The special plates here are $25 and the custom plate is another $25. So it is a $50 one time cost for the personalization AND special plate then an additional $5 a year when renewal comes around.

Here it's a repeating $35/year for a custom number on a special plate, in addition to the regular registration fee....$10 extra for just the personal character combo without a specialty plate.
