My local indy told me he'd direct line in, but on inspection during oil change, decided that it was going to bent the lines too much and he feared there was not enough length in the line. I'd do it, but not sure how to bleed after.
There is plenty of slack in the line.
MANY of us have done it that way.

If you do it right by pinching the line close to the fitting , bleeding isn't necessary
