Mine's done that since I bought it used nearly 2 years ago.
I thought it was supposed to do that, but I reach up and ease it down by hand.
I don't like things to slam.
Looks like they made a change in the TENSION ROPE 07/2007.
If anyone figures out the details, and applicable years, please post.
