There's an OIL TEMP GAUGE, which on a super hot day, being driven the p*ss out of, it's not out of the realm of possibility for the oil temp to climb a little. I've seen as high as 260ºf, which is just a hair north of middle, on a day where ambient temp is as high as 116ºf and tarmac temp as measured by a infrared thermometer at 160ºf.
Until you mentioned it above I didn't realize the MC got an oil temp gauge. Those of us with lesser models got shafted with the idiot gauge water temp indicator that's not really a gauge.
