Actually quite the contrary. They say the heavier the rim is the more it absorbs bumps on the road vs lightweight rims, hence why some manufacturers as stock choose slightly heavier rims to balance out ride quality in achieving the feel they want for a stock car. Unless of course they are selling the car as a performance track version, generally the rims are actually heavy for this being one of the reasons.
I've many times swapped stock specs sizes for a lighter setup and that alone already changes the feel to seem more jarring. Coupled with the psychological effect of feeling those bumps will dent a wheel.
Unless we are talking about ride quality as being performance feeling better in handling then that's a diff story because yes it will give a better response if the wheel is lighter.
