I went from 18's with run-flat tires and stock sport suspension to 19's with non-run-flat tires and H&R sport springs. I'd say that the ride quality is not much different when it comes to comfort. However, if your suspension is overall worn out (bushings, shocks, springs etc.) you might find the ride quite interesting or worse. To me a good combo is power flex bushings, H&R sport springs and Bilstein sport shocks (or Koni, but I prefer the stiffness of the Bilstein).
