I'm debating between Coilovers and this setup and it's hard to justify the extra coinage. I'm running a fully adjustable coilover setup on my MK5 Jetta and once its dialed in its in. I'm not here for super low, I'm here for looks and performance because I'm already a fan of the msport package springs I have but the wheel gap bothers me.
Sigh....I had good history with my prokits on my Mazda 3.

I recently installed Eibach/Koni on my car:

I think I got around 1/4" in the rear and 3/4" drop in the front. I had the M sport suspension before. It's funny how these lowering kits affect height differently on each of our cars even if we all have the same specs.

His drop looks much lower than mine, so he actually raised it a little with some thicker spring pads.
