While I am not a person who stores cars (though my E86 sits tightly under cover in the winter), I think you describe someone who views special cars also as material or collectors items, in addition to a driving machine. To them, preservation is just as enjoyable as acceleration.
I hope one day I am in a position that I can also have a car that I vew as art and more than just a driving machine. It might be a '55 porsche spyder replica, driven only on summer weekends.

I hear you and perhaps if I had a Ferrari Dino, A Miura or M1, yes, but to purchase what is for all intents and purposes a regular car and then not drive it? But to each his own, more power to the new owner. I found miune with 7K miles and two years old. I have since put on 23K miles in almost three years. wanna get this bad boy to 150K and infinite smiles.
