I think if you take that cover off you still won't be able to get the filter off the tubing and off to clean. As I said I cut out another piece of the radiator shroud so I could pull the filter BACK through if I had to. I am also going to see if I can't replace the flex 3.5 " hosing with 2 - 45 degree silicone fittings that are also 3.5" and can be turned in different directions to make it easier to take it apart AND replace from inside the engine compartment.
