ITs 3.5" and is tight - in the course of routing the air intake hose through the radiator housing I decided to cut the stay between the original intake hole and the rad. It may look a little rough - see further up in the posts but at least I can pull the entire intake BACK through including the filter when I want to clean and oil it.

ALthough say its easy to do - taking the whole damn bumper off the change an air filter is like the old Jags where you had to drop the motor to change the spark plugs!@! Regular maintenance should not be a pain in the ass.
