If you have a 2007 or 2008, then the tire pressure system uses sensors in the wheels. I'd guess that either you have the wrong sensor in your wheels (looks like they're from a E92 335is?) or the battery in the sensor is dead. 2006 and earlier models used the wheel speed sensors to detect a flat.

For the PCV recall, only non-M cars with the N52 engine (3.0i and 3.0si) are affected. Here's the NHTSA release: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/202...2V119-2848.pdf
