E92 M3 debutted in 2008, Z4M in 2006 but was available till 2008 in a limited two-year run
As far as I remember they also didn't sell well (financial crisis?) and you could still get a brand new one in 2009
For a few years you could have a brand new Z4 M or a E92 M3, so mentally I do consider them to be from the same family
E46 screams early 00's, Z4 M has a timeless design, 9/10 people actually think my Z4 is from this year
