Z4 M is definitely a collectible for the following reasons:
1. Limitation production numbers (both Coupe and Roadster)
2. Last of the M's with Hydraulic Steering and a Naturally aspirated Engine
3. Only Z4 with a real M-Engine
4. Actually feels like a proper sports car
5. Subjective, but potentially Bangle's best design (EDIT: Not Bangle)
They Z4 M is in my opinion one of the last true M cars and at its current price-point is great value for the price
Now if you're in it to make some money and perhaps flip it, it really depends.
Z4 M definitely hit the floor on the depreciation curve and higher prices are only justified by certified low mileage samples. I know that some people buy used ones, fix them and sell them for a small profit. Making some money on it is definitely doable but don't expect to buy a 150,000 mile model, do no maintenance on it and hope to sell it for triple in 5 years.
