Hmmm...puzzled by that as mine worked--though it did take a few tries to get moving in traffic before the Solo kicked itself out of calibration mode.
Worse comes to worse, if you can't get the Solo to compute gear selection and pass it on as a test channel, you can get RaceStudio to do the exact same thing as a match channel. See tutorial for doing this here:
