285 may be possible but like Finnegan says, it will take some careful setup to get it done. (looking at this myself in 18")
It also makes a HUGE difference on the tire brand used as to how rounded the shoulders are.
e.g. 265 Hankook RS3 vs ZII star specs
section width is identical @ 10.7
Tread width is VERY different. 9.4 vs 10.0 |
^ This. 265 or 285, that's the start of the fitment journey. They're not all the same in all dimensions. Tire Rack and others give you many measurements to look at and consider. Two good ones are noted above.
