My original plan for replacing my 2.5i, before getting my M Coupe, was to buy a 2005 Jet Black 3.0i, fully loaded with dream red extended leather, nav, optional hardtop, the works, and then swap in a 3.46 rear end. I'd already been researching the swap when Ms started showing up for bargain-basement prices in late 2007. The price difference was only a few grand by then, and the HP/$ ratio was too good to pass up.
