I also looked at wilwood when I was looking around for a bbk.
But I specifically wanted dustboots. my car is not a pure track car.
There are always a lot of opinions about the necessity of dustboots, but fact is that every 'production car' has brakes that are equipped with dustboots (to my knowledge, maybe a pagani zonda or something like that doesnt have them, but regular cars do....).
Obviously they can fail on very high temps (even the silicone ones), but everything on a brake system can fail at very high temps. Usually on non racecars calipers fail on sticking or leaking and that is always a seal/corrosion/dirt problem.
I think wilwood also has specific calipers with dustboots but most kits you see dont have them in there. (and I dont know if it then still is an affordable brand
)
