It depends HUGELY of which tire you choose.
Depending on the make, a 285/35 can have considerably different specs for cross section & tread width.
Tire design is also a factor; e.g. Star specs are a little more square than NT-05s
It also depends on your rear camber.
FWIW....
I'm currently running 265/35x18 NT05s on 9.5" width wheels.
I have a
net offset of 22.
My rear camber is -2.0
I'm right at the limit for what I can run on the track w/o rubbing.
Personally, I'd be looking at 10" wheel if 285 is your goal.
